Connected Africa Summit 2024

The Connected Africa Summit 2024, was inaugurated by H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, C.G.H. and attracted over 1,500 delegates from 59 countries, including Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, and Special Envoys from major international bodies.

The summit featured 58 innovative entries from Africa, with 8 selected for pitching presentations and awards. The Nairobi Declaration, a seven-point agenda, emphasized digital collaboration and cooperation among African nations. The event also included a Ministers Masterclass and pre-summit training courses, equipping 52 participants with advanced skills.

The Ministers in charge of Technology in Africa, led by CS Eliud Owalo, discussed the potential of digital technologies for Africa's advancement. They aimed to create a more interconnected Africa characterized by equality, inclusion, sustainability, transparency, accountability, diversity, and respect for human rights.

They committed to using digital infrastructure and technology to promote inclusive economic development of at least 5% annually for the next ten years, positioning Africa as a major player in the development of a Society 5.0 that integrates human needs with technical achievements.

The Connected Africa Summit 2024, brought together Africa's top ICT experts to discuss the need for a digitally empowered and interconnected future. The summit's success was largely due to the active participation and contributions of the delegates, who contributed to the rich discussions and impactful outcomes.
