ICT Work Permits

The ICT Authority is working with the Department of Immigration to facilitate faster issuance of work permits for foreign ICT experts who have companies relocating to Kenya or want to open subsidiaries in the country.  We help by providing a clearance letter for the work permit application which is a requirement by the Department of Immigration.

ICT Work Permits Clearance Letter

The following steps describe the sequence of obtaining a clearance letter from the ICT Authority as a requirement for persons seeking a work permit from the Department of Immigration:

Step 1:

The ICT work permit application process begins with an application to the Department of Immigration.  Once the application is made at the Department of Immigration, you will be provided with a file reference number and a request to provide a clearance letter from the ICT Authority.

Step 2:

To obtain this clearance letter, you must:

  • Fill in ALL the questions in the form provided and submit it online
  • Submit the accompanying documents required in an envelope addressed to:

The CEO, ICT Authority
Attn: Director Partnerships, Innovation and Capacity
Telposta Towers, 12th Floor
Nairobi, Kenya.

Step 3:

Once all your documents are received at the ICT Authority, your application is reviewed.  If all the requirements are met, you will be given the clearance letter from the ICT Authority.

Step 4:

On acquiring this letter from the ICT Authority, you will present it back at the Department of Immigration so as to obtain the work permit.
