The Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) is a government of Kenya initiative aimed at enabling every pupil to use technology for learning. The Programme introduces pupils to the use of digital technology and other communication tools in learning.
Its overall objective is to integrate ICT into learning. This will enhance Kenya’s transformation into a world class centre in ICT and a knowledge based economy. Its implementation is spearheaded by the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) through the ICT Authority.
DLP Phase II will be rolled out in July of 2019. During this phase the Programme will adopt the SMART Lab model and is themed “Using to Learn” the technology.The table below is a current status update and achievements in different key areas:
